Over Due For An Update

It's been ages since I've blogged. I've been busy doing nothing it seems. Ever just get caught up in the everyday stuff and then seem to have next to nothing to show for it? That's me. I've done a little scrapping this month and a whole lot of putting away "Christmas". That's never as much fun as getting it all out! That 12 ft tree of mine might just be a lot easier to decorate seasonally than take up and down. Who's to say that a 12 ft fir isn't a good houseplant! Bah humbug on them. The pace is about to pick up around here as we start the final countdown to a wedding (not one of my girls...nope, you didn't miss anything) It's Val's long standing best friend from back in the middle school/hs days. Val is her maid of honor and Britt is a bridesmaid. Her actual wedding will be on my birthday, March 3 rd.... wow, I actually will have something to GO to on my birthday this year! Woo Hoo but this month will bring lots of activities (showers, dressfittings, bachelorette party, etc) that affect my life in one way or another because it brings my college girls back home for a couple of days here and there from now till March. This weekend both Val and Britt will be coming in. Britt a day earlier than Val because she is "needy" ..of time with mom perhaps? umm, yes, that would be shopping time with Mom! I'm getting calls on a regular basis "warning" me of the things she is in need of as she thinks of them. LOL. Funny girl!

Val, on the other hand is pretty much too busy to talk on the phone. She's keeping her same two kiddos after school for a couple of hours each day, plus she's doing her internship and taking her last two classes....oh, and now she has a boyfriend to somehow work into her busy schedule. She has informed me that she's not a fan of this real world "crap"... that would be work and then kids after work. I laughed at her and said that she at least only had to be the mom for a couple of hours a day and then walk away from it. She is now thinking that if she does decide she wants kids it will not be until she's about 29! Said she needs a few years of "just working" to adjust before adding any kids into the equation. I know what she is really thinking...that she can retire like her mom did at the ripe old age of 29 when I started my family.

Brooke is just staying busy living the college life and is very involved with her business fraternity. Now thinking about going ahead and declaring her major as international business with a minor in Japanese...yes, she has become obsessed with learning Japanese. Is planning on starting the language program next fall...couldn't start it this semester because Japanese 1 is not offered in the spring.

Chelsea is staying busy with drill team activities and fundraisers. Competition season is about to start so it will get WAY busier before it gets better.

Will share a picture of Brooke and Chels taken the night before Brooke went back to OSU...note...she's back to a dark blond now. That could of course change before she's home next

Three things I hate: being late, the alarm, dead rats in my backyard or pool(each only happened once but it made a real impact on me!)
