I Should Be Scrapping

ah, but I'm having trouble getting motivated this week. It's spring break here so we are in relax mode. I'm usually as regular as clockwork with my 7 AM arrival at Starbucks but not this week. I'm sure they are about to send out a search and rescue team in search of me by the time I wonder in around 10:30 or 11:00. I don't adjust well to DST anyway so after a break where I've been able to sleep late next week is going to be a killer for me. Chels has been in chill mode this week for sure too..... don't think she's gotten out of pjs so far. At least I do get dressed!

Britt surprised us with a couple of days home over her spring break. Since she went to Vegas over Christmas break she hadn't planned to take a spring break trip. That didn't last long...the boyfriend is on a guys trip down in Panama City...like SHE'S just going to sit home and do nothing...not likely. She came home for a little R&R (and shopping) and today she is off with some girlfriends to New Orleans for a couple of days and then down to another friend's beach house for a couple more days.

Val opted for no spring break trip. Her internship is kicking her butt so she's staying in San Marcos and working this week so she can get lots of those hours logged in while she's not keeping the twins or having to go to classes.

Brooke doesn't have spring break till next week. She will stop by here for a couple of days then head down to Padre with her girls and then back here for a few more days so she can work and replenish her bank account.

I am being lazy as you can tell. It's time to start on the Vegas albums for Britt and her best friend however I'm just having trouble getting started. It could be because I've never been to Vegas myself. It will not ever get finished if I don't start though.Well, enough rambling. I need to get back in my habit of updating this thing with my boring everyday ramblings.

Over Due For An Update

It's been ages since I've blogged. I've been busy doing nothing it seems. Ever just get caught up in the everyday stuff and then seem to have next to nothing to show for it? That's me. I've done a little scrapping this month and a whole lot of putting away "Christmas". That's never as much fun as getting it all out! That 12 ft tree of mine might just be a lot easier to decorate seasonally than take up and down. Who's to say that a 12 ft fir isn't a good houseplant! Bah humbug on them. The pace is about to pick up around here as we start the final countdown to a wedding (not one of my girls...nope, you didn't miss anything) It's Val's long standing best friend from back in the middle school/hs days. Val is her maid of honor and Britt is a bridesmaid. Her actual wedding will be on my birthday, March 3 rd.... wow, I actually will have something to GO to on my birthday this year! Woo Hoo but this month will bring lots of activities (showers, dressfittings, bachelorette party, etc) that affect my life in one way or another because it brings my college girls back home for a couple of days here and there from now till March. This weekend both Val and Britt will be coming in. Britt a day earlier than Val because she is "needy" ..of time with mom perhaps? umm, yes, that would be shopping time with Mom! I'm getting calls on a regular basis "warning" me of the things she is in need of as she thinks of them. LOL. Funny girl!

Val, on the other hand is pretty much too busy to talk on the phone. She's keeping her same two kiddos after school for a couple of hours each day, plus she's doing her internship and taking her last two classes....oh, and now she has a boyfriend to somehow work into her busy schedule. She has informed me that she's not a fan of this real world "crap"... that would be work and then kids after work. I laughed at her and said that she at least only had to be the mom for a couple of hours a day and then walk away from it. She is now thinking that if she does decide she wants kids it will not be until she's about 29! Said she needs a few years of "just working" to adjust before adding any kids into the equation. I know what she is really thinking...that she can retire like her mom did at the ripe old age of 29 when I started my family.

Brooke is just staying busy living the college life and is very involved with her business fraternity. Now thinking about going ahead and declaring her major as international business with a minor in Japanese...yes, she has become obsessed with learning Japanese. Is planning on starting the language program next fall...couldn't start it this semester because Japanese 1 is not offered in the spring.

Chelsea is staying busy with drill team activities and fundraisers. Competition season is about to start so it will get WAY busier before it gets better.

Will share a picture of Brooke and Chels taken the night before Brooke went back to OSU...note...she's back to a dark blond now. That could of course change before she's home next

Three people/things that make me laugh: Stacy, my girls (oops, that puts me over limit already)

Three things that scare me: scary movies, the thought of something bad happening to my kids, and I'm not fond of rats and snakes

Three things I love: my family, my friends, my dog

Three things I hate: being late, the alarm, dead rats in my backyard or pool(each only happened once but it made a real impact on me!)

Three things I don't understand: how kids can text message so fast, lots of computer stuff, and why manuals associated with computers in any way can't be written so that non geek sorts can understand them

Three things on my desk: My Moniter, keyboard, and scanner

Three things I want to do before I die: see all 4 girls graduate from college, meet my "grandchildren" , visit Australia

Three things I can do: scrapbook, laugh at myself, cook

Three things I would like to learn: Photoshop Elements, more about Digital photography, ...really can't think of a third

Three favorite foods: I love it all...how can one pick 3 favorites?

Three beverages I drink regularly: water, iced tea , and Starbucks mocha

More Christmas

OK, just finally finding the time to post some pictures from Christmas day. The girls will kill me if they see this. They thought they were safe from pictures while we were opening gifts just because I hadn't taken any in two yrs...WRONG! So now you will all see how they really look here at home. No makeup and in their pjs! mean momma, huh? Here's Chels with her new pink Nano

It was the yr of the boot at our house I think...well, for the college girls. Chels was not interested in them at all. Everyone seemed to be suffering from cold feet because UGGs topped the list for them along with new black dress boots. Santa also threw in some fun fuzzy socks in those stockings too. Besides boots it was the usual clothing requests, coats, down vests, one thought she needed a new iPpod, another new bedding, and the lists went on and on ranging from makeup to tanning memberships... prepare to see the pale one not quite so pale in a few months. Here we have Brooke modeling her new Gap Vest so she can immitate the commercial I'm sure. The first thing she did was throw the hood up. Next we've got Val with her UGGS. This girl has major problems with cold feet...problem solved now since she got the real UGGS...we may not see her out of them till summer. And last we've got Britt, always stylin with her new Jessica Simpson Parisa boots

And here we have Brooke and Chels battling it out on Guitar Hero II. It's not been too quiet at our house since Christmas morning.

I found me!

I've been MIA on here because I kind of lost my blog during a mini crash...found myself and finally remembered my password. Dottie, you are right. I do need to get one of those password books like you told me about or simply make myself one.

It's been over two months since I blogged it looks like. I've just been busy with stuff that needs to be done this time of the year. Sure enjoyed having the girls home for Thanksgiving. Here's a picture snapped in the process of filling our plates. David and three of the girls. Britt was at the Cowboys game with her boyfriend, Chris, and his family.... we did have her here the day before and then the weekend after so the family WAS complete for a day or two here and there as they came and went.

As you might notice, Brooke has changed her haircolor again...4th time in a yr I do believe....lol..

I'm looking forward to having the crew home again. Brooke will be home on the 15th. Valerie and Britt won't arrive till closer to Christmas day and then will wander in and out during that month they are out of school. Brooke will stay here and work, Val will have to go to San Marcos and work keeping the twins, and Britt will be heading to Vegas for a few days in January on a girls trip.

I've got the house almost all decorated. It's got to be some sort of record for me to have it done this early. Seems I've just got more Christmas spirit this yr than in the past few..no clue why. I'm enjoying the decorating process and I've even got the shopping almost finished. Gift wrapping is what's on the agenda for today. Maybe I'm going a little over board with Christmas this year since Chels said she was going to be SOOOO sick of Christmas music by Christmas. So, do you think that playing it in the car and every waking hour at home is overkill?
